Biography of St. Martina:
St. Martina was a deaconess arrested by Emperor Alexander because she openly professed her faith. When Martina was dragged before the statues of Apollo and Artemis, the shattered caused an earthquake that destroyed both temples. Stricken with various kinds of torments, she was finally beheaded.
