Venetian nativity set

The soft nuances of wood, the warm colors and the faded accents create a composition that goes far beyond the charm of an ordinary crib - it is a journey through several worlds. Our Venetian crib from the original cLEPI collection combines oriental influences with Venetian flair and local tradition. Here, cultures and eras merge in the telling of what is probably the most famous story of our faith.

A VENETIAN EXPERIENCE
The details speak volumes. Balthasar, for example, does not wear an ordinary crown, but the distinctive doge's cap of Venice. In addition, the gifts of the kings made of real gold and the centrally placed carpet lend a luxurious touch. In this way, a simple figure becomes a symbol for the exchange of cultures and the appealing aesthetics of the foreign are embedded in a traditional setting.

REVOLUTION OF NOSTALGIA
The crib never loses its regional charm. It is deeply rooted in the tradition of Val Gardena wood art and yet open to new impulses. It is precisely this mixture that makes it so special - a tribute to history and at the same time an invitation to invent new stories.

INDIVIDUALITY
Inspire your imagination with the Venetian crib and its unique elements. The unique backdrop with a brick semi-circular background and sandy floor gives the composition an oriental flair, but can also be combined with any other scene. Create your own personal Christmas compendium of Christian origins or find an original gift idea in it to share this sensation with your loved ones.

FASCINATING OAK VARINATE
The speciality of the Venetian crib is its second version in oak wood. The structure and colour have been taken directly from nature. The structure of the wood can be seen in each figure, so that even the annual rings are still recognizable. This Venetian oak nativity scene is finished in various mordant tones. Only the key elements, such as the angel's wings or the special gifts of the kings, have been enriched with gold trim to contribute to the elegance. It is the symbiosis of precision craftsmanship and artistic vision that brings every detail to life.

A WORK BY GERALD MORODER
Born in Milan, the artist pursued his affinity for practice with ambition. From art school to vocational school and various internships with master sculptors, he specialized his expertise and the necessary skills. In the end, his work was well received, enabling him to present his works at numerous exhibitions at home and abroad and to make a living as a freelance artist in Ortisei.

THE LEPI STORY
In 1920, Leo Prinoth Senior founded a carving workshop in the world-famous Val Gardena, whose product range initially comprised items with specific functions, such as buttons, corks and watch cases. However, the range was soon expanded to include sacred and profane sculptures. Slowly, nativity figures became more and more relevant and cLEPI introduced a quality assurance system and a wide-ranging production program with several variants of the respective nativity scenes, for which several artists were commissioned. Comprehensive quality controls of the materials were also introduced. Grandsons Alfred, Roland and Diego continued the family legacy until cLEPI moved to our Demi Art collection as a prestigious brand. We at Demi Art remained true to the values and quality standards of cLEPI and even took over the employees and the company headquarters. Today, our diverse showroom is located here, where each of our special crib creations is exhibited.
