Biography of St. Veronique:
While Jesus was on the way to Calvary he fell under the weight of the Cross and St. Veronique having pity with him wiped his face with a veil. A miracle occured and the cloth was imprinted with the image of Christ's face. According to the myth, Veronique brought the veil away from the Holy Land, and used it to cure Emperor Tiberius's illness. Though the figure of St. Veronique still hasn't got a clear identification.
