Biography of St. Agnes:
The story of St. Agnes is based on two different traditions referring to two different martyrs. According to the Latin tradition St. Agnes was massacred when she was twelve years old, whereas the Hellenic tradition remembers her as an adult virgin. The Greek story tells about a youngster who tried to violate St. Agnes and dropped dead. When the prefect interrogated Agnes about this death, she answered that a white dressed angel had protected her.
