Kastlunger nativity set

Immerse yourself in the magical world of the Kastlunger Nativity, a masterful collection that captures the spirit of the Christmas story in a unique and dynamic way. Here, where tradition and creativity merge, centuries-old craftsmanship and modern artistic interpretation come together to create a nativity scene that stimulates both the eye and the imagination of the viewer.
The figures of the Kastlunger crib from the Lepi collection reflect the deep philosophy of their creator Harald Kastlunger: Every human being is a prisoner of his circumstances, and yet true happiness lies in recognizing the beauty in every situation. This philosophy comes to life in every carved gesture and facial expression, as it invites you to experience the miracle of Christ's birth on a whole new, deeper level.

UNIQUELY SIMPLE
The figures of the Kastlunger Nativity scene are characterized by their genuine and simple touch, which sets them apart from the usual, standardized nativity scene figures. There is no rigid template here, just the simple but powerful expressiveness of Harald Kastlunger. The simplicity of the design is not a lack of attention to detail, but a conscious decision to emphasize the essence of the moment. It is this deliberate reduction that makes the viewer pause and marvel - not at the complexity, but at the clear and playful charisma of these figures.

AN ECCENTRIC NATIVITY SCENE
What makes the Kastlunger nativity scene so special is the way in which the figures are brought to life. Every posture, every gesture has been carefully thought through and designed to allow the viewer to fully experience them. The figures are not merely passive, they interact with each other and with the viewer. You can feel the love of Mother Mary, the reverence of the shepherds and the adoration of the wise men. It is almost as if you could hold your breath and hear the whispering of the angels. This dynamic vitality of the figures makes the nativity scene an experience that goes far beyond mere contemplation.
At this lively sight, even the goats can no longer stifle their laughter. Only the shepherd seems to be fast asleep.
If you dare to look beyond the horizon, you will also come across some familiar faces. A wicked witch lures the brother and sister Hansel and Gretel, while Frau Holle makes it snow from the top floor.

HARALD KASTLUNGER: A GIANT OF THE IMAGINATION
The creative mind behind this extraordinary nativity scene is an artist who has devoted himself entirely to art. Born in South Tyrol, he was once at home in music, but later found his true passion in sculpture and painting. His works, including the Kastlunger crib, are characterized by a deep philosophical examination of life and human nature. He knows how to condense complex emotions into simple, clear forms and convey a message that goes beyond the visible. His figures are not just works of art, but expressions of his innermost convictions and his lifelong journey to true happiness.

THE UNIQUE COMPOSITION
Kastlunger's nativity scene has several features that contribute to its playful appearance. Starting with the stable, you will notice the peculiar triangular shape with a shingle roof. It is available in two versions and can be fixed to the base plate or set up as desired. Whether you reinterpret the crib from scratch or use the orderly overall composition with background, the design possibilities are limitless. It can be purchased in its entirety or in smaller sets, such as the Holy Family. This is the case with all our cribs.

THE LEPI STORY
In 1920, Leo Prinoth Senior founded a carving workshop in the world-famous Val Gardena, whose product range initially comprised items with specific functions, such as buttons, corks and watch cases. However, the range was soon expanded to include sacred and profane sculptures. The local stone pine wood was ideal for production, although lime wood was also used. Slowly, nativity figures became more and more relevant and Leo Prinoth Junior introduced a quality assurance system and a wide-ranging production program with several variants of each nativity scene. Several artists were commissioned for the new production series, which resulted in nine unique nativity scene compositions. In 1992, the company's headquarters were relocated, which also led to comprehensive quality controls of the materials and finished products. Leo Prinoth Junior continued the family tradition with his sons Alfred, Roland and Diego until LEPI became a brand in the Demi Art collection.
