When did Bl. Eva of Liege live: 1190 - 1265
Biography:
Eva of Liege was convinced by Julianna of Liege to live a life as a recluse and to fight for the feast in honour of the Blessed Sacrament. The accession of Pope Urban IV inspired her to continue her quest and her hopes were indeed fulfilled: he instituted the festival of Corpus Christi and even sent her the bull of authorisation. She died in 1265 and was buried in the church of St. Martin in Liege, where her relics are still nowadays. Eva was declared Blessed in 1902.
