Biography of St. Isabel of France:
Isabelle was born in 1225 as the daughter of Louis VIII of France, thus was the sister of King Louis IX of France. Several noble man proposed to her, but she always refused due to her pursuit of virginity and faith to God. She ministered among the poor and sick. In 1255, she founded the Poor Clare Monastery of Longchamp in which she lived in austerity but never became nun or abbess. She died in 1270 and was buried in the monastery church. Apparently, many miracles occurred at her grave.
