When did Bl. Joanna Maria de Maillé live: 1332- 1414
Biography:
Joanna Maria de Maillé was born as the daughter of a baron and decided to dedicate her life to Christ at the age of 10 years, in occasion of Christmas when she had an appearance of the Holy Mother. Unfortunately, she was engaged shortly after to Baron Robert de Silly and married in 1347. Together with her husband, she cared for the sick and poor during the plague. After the death of her husband, she retired in a Franciscan Order in Tours. From 1377 until death, she lived as a recluse. She died in 1414 and was buried in Tours (France).
Patronage: Joanna Maria de Maillé is patron saint of abuse-victims, widows, orfans and against mockery of piety.
