When did St. Cosmas live: Beginning of the fourth century
Biography of St. Cosmas:
There is just few information on the life of Cosmas and Damian, christian twins. They were born in Arabia and after the study of medicine in Syria, they took cared of the sick. They were not common doctors, in fact, they didn't want to be paid for their job. Through their works of charity, they reached a lot of people and shared their christian faith. This mission was the reason of their death: they were martyred. Diocletian ordered to behead them in 303.
Patronage: St. Cosmas is patron saint of doctors, surgeons, hairdressers and pharmacists
