When did St. Conrad of Constance live: 900- 975
Biography of St. Conrad:
Conrad was born in 900 in the powerful Welf family as the son of the Count Heinrich of Altdorf. He was educated at the cathedral school in Constance, before being appointed canon and provost. In 934, he was then elected bishop of Constance. He went on several pilgrimages to Jerusalem and Rome and gave all his property to the church in order to build new churches and the hospital at Keuzlingen. In 960, he ordered the building of the Mauritius-chapel, in which he was later buried.
