When did St. Romuald live: in the tenth and eleventh century
Biography of St. Romuald:
St. Romuald was born in a noble Italian family and he spent his early life following worldly ideals. After having witnessed his father killing an opponent at the age of 15, he became first a monk and then abbot of the Benedictine monastery of St. Apollinare. During his life serving God, he met quite a few difficulties such as calumny. He died in the monastery of Castro in the year 1027. He was canonized in 1032.
