When did St. Benjamin of Persia live: in the fifth century
Biography of St. Benjamin of Persia:
Benjamin was a deacon and worked as a missionary in Persia during the period of Persecution of Christians. This is why he was captured in 422 but released after a year under the condition that he would never speak about religion again. Nevertheless, St. Benjamin continued to preach and worship and was again persecuted by King Varanes who let him torture to death with spears in 424.
