Biography of St. Urban:
Little is known about St. Urban, Pope Urban I. Born in Rome, he was Pope from 14th of October 222 to 23rd May 230, when he died. According to the legendary "Acts of St. Cecilia", St. Urban was able to convert many people due to his preaching and he baptised the husband of St. Cecilia. Moreover it is told that St. Urban ordered the making of silver and golden liturgical vessels for twenty-five titular churches of his own time. The liturgical vessel became his symbol and thus the statues and sculptures represent St. Urban with a bunch of grape.
