When did St. Ubald live: 1084- 1160
Biography:
St. Ubald was born in 1084 in Gubbio in Italy and lost his parents at a young age, he grew up as an orphan and was educated by his uncle the bishop of Gubbio. Ubald too, decided to dedicate his life to God and was ordained priest, then nominated deacon and finally became a hermit. Thanks to Peter of Rimini, he gave up his hermitage and returned to Gubbio and shortly after was made bishop of Gubbio. He successfully saved Gubbio from being sacked by Emperor Frederick II and died in 1160 after two years of illness.
