Biography of St. Edwin:
After several years of exile, St Edwin succeeded to the throne of Deira and became soon the absolute monarch. In asking to marry Etelburga, who was Christian, Edwin pondered about the possibility of his conversion to Christianity. Finally, he decided to adhere to the doctrine of Christ, he promoted the construction of a stone church and engaged in spreading Christianity and lasting peace in his kingdom.
