When did St. Jonah live: in the eight century B.C
Biography of St. Jonah:
Jonah was a Prophet in Northern Israel who was elected by God to go to Ninive to tell the people about a future Judgment of God. Jonah did not follow the instruction of God, but instead jumped on a boat that went to Jaffa. During his travels, a huge sea storm arose and the ship crew casted Jonah overboard. Jonah was swallowed by a sea monster and spit out again after three days. This time, Jonah obeyed God and prophesied against Ninive. The people instantly repented and God forgave them for having forgotten about him.
