Biography of St. Fra Angelico:
Fra Angelico was born in 1395 in Tuscany as the son of a wealthy family and was originally called Guido di Pietro. He was the most famous artist of the fifteenth century. Fra Angelico entered the dominican order in Fiesole close to Florence in 1417 and was ordained in 1423. Inspired by his great faith and his piousness, his works or art shine with pure light. His style is still influenced by the Middle Ages but also has some touch of the early Renaissance. Most of his works are altar pieces and frescoes created for churches, especially for the San Marco in Florence.
