Biography of St. Bertrand of Comminges:
Bertrand was born in 1050 in L'Isle-Jourdain to a military officer. According to his family, he should become a knight and was also raised to be one, but he decided to dedicate his life to God and entered religious orders. He was made archdeacon of Toulouse and Bishop of Comminges. During his episcopate, he rebuilt the cathedral which is nowadays a Unesco World Heritage Site. Bertrand died in 1126.
